STARBUCKS LOGO

I chose this logo because it is such a simple, yet effective design. It includes only one colour but uses it in a very effective way, a way that makes the consumer remember the experience. The image used is an example of visual hierarchy as it highlights the crown (a metaphor for the best coffee). This logo is also very dynamic in the way that it uses line to show movement and also the positive and negative space to emphasize the movement (hair of figure).

CONVERSE LOGO

I chose this logo because it very recognizable in the way that is connects with many other things (Example: The American flag and sporting stars). This logo shows unity of design as the words ‘All Star’ give reason and purpose for the star being there (not just giving reason to the image but also to the company). The logo also uses symmetry, which gives the picture balance and works with the overall look of the logo (example: the star is centered which gives everything around it balance).

DOC MARTENS LOGO

I chose this logo because it is creative in the way that it represents a shoe through movement of the typography which immediately connects with the product (the strong walking shoe). The Contrast of the two colours are used to make the black stand out also highlighting it and giving it a 3D effect, making the logo more noticeable to the customer (instead of just being flat). The typography used is very dynamic (like a walking shoe) – the letters mimic the sole of the shoe.
